CHARLESTON, S.C., U.S.: With intraoral scanning becoming increasingly prevalent in dentistry, knowing which scanner will give the best performance is essential. In a new study led by Dr. Walter Renne, from the Department of Oral Rehabilitation at the Medical University of South Carolina, researchers looked at seven scanners and analyzed their performance based on 3-D comparisons. They found that Planmeca PlanScan and 3Shape’s TRIOS performed the best.
