BRUSSELS, Belgium: Dentists all over Europe are doing their part to limit the spread of COVID-19 while staying up to date with national and local regulations. However, as an increasing number of member states have restricted the provision of dental care to medical emergencies only, some dentists are finding it difficult to fulfil their professional obligations and are struggling to comply with the existing and new infection control protocols. Since dentists are postponing elective procedures and reducing office hours, the number of dental patients being treated is low and dentists are starting to feel the tremendous long-term impact of the pandemic on their businesses.

BERNE, Switzerland: The virus SARS-CoV-2 has a firm grip on the world and is affecting how people live their daily lives. In Switzerland, as in many other countries, the government is making a clear demand on its citizens to stay at home, and gatherings in public places of more than five people are banned. GENEVA, Switzerland: In light of World Oral Health Day (WOHD), which is being celebrated around the world today on 20 March 2020, FDI World Dental Federation released new statistics on the willingness of parents to limit their children’s sugar intake to ensure good oral health. The global survey, which was carried out by YouGov and commissioned by FDI, showed that less than half of parents proactively limit their children’s intake of sweets, carbonated soft drinks and juice as a means of protecting their teeth.
