ALTSTÄTTEN, Switzerland: COLTENE, international developer, manufacturer and seller of dental consumables and small equipment, has announced the departure of Andreas Meldau. The CEO left the Swiss-based company on Friday, 1 July.

The departure of the CEO was rather sudden. In May, COLTENE announced that Meldau, who had been CEO of the company since 2008, had accepted a new role within the dental industry but would continue to lead COLTENE in his current role until a successor has been appointed or until the end of October at the latest.

According to the company, Erwin Locher, member of the Board of Directors, will assume the CEO’s leadership and management duties as a delegate of the Board of Directors together with the management team until a new CEO has been appointed. The company is currently evaluating CEO candidates.

COLTENE has state-of-the-art production facilities in the US, Switzerland, Germany, Hungary and Brazil. Dentists and dental labs use COLTENE products for traditional, as well as implant-based therapies and dental reconstruction.
