Henry Schein unveils “Future of dental software” at BDIA Dental Showcase
LONDON, UK: Henry Schein UK took the opportunity at last week’s BDIA Dental Showcase to demonstrate the latest offering updates of its affiliate Software of Excellence, Britain’s largest dental practice software provider, at a presentation titled the “Future of dental software”.
The new EXACT V13 is the latest generation of Software of Excellence’s EXACT software and is heralded by Henry Schein as a driver of efficiency, performance and patient satisfaction within dental practices. Through EXACT V13, the company aims to make it easier for patients to interact with their dental practices and take control of their appointment schedules with the new Patient Portal feature. Patient Portal allows patients to conduct online booking, update and complete forms, scan self-check-in passes, automate confirmation for follow-up appointments and even pay online—all through a smartphone.
“EXACT V13 gives dentists the ability to engage with the patient outside of the dental practice and motivate him or her to keep his or her treatment going,” said Guy Meyers, Head of Customer Success at Software of Excellence. “It’s a seamless and automated journey not just for the dentist, but for the patient as well.”
Another new feature of EXACT V13 is AssistDent Caries Detection. According to Henry Schein, AssistDent can usually identify around 70 per cent of early interproximal enamel caries, compared with 30 or 40 per cent for the average dentist. Using artificial intelligence, AssistDent analyses and highlights areas where closer inspection could help to identify caries that might otherwise be missed.
Another new feature from Henry Schein that premiered at the BDIA Dental Showcase was cloud-based management software Dentrix Ascend. With an established customer base in the US and Australia, Dentrix Ascend has an intuitive design and provides dentists with a management system that streamlines daily workflows.
“Dentrix Ascend is a next-generation practice management platform that leverages technology available today to deliver better experiences for dentists who can then, in turn, deliver better experiences for their patients,” stated Adam McDaniel, Segment Manager for Henry Schein.
